This is really awesome. Is there any chance I can get access to the pokemon lab you all created?

Sorry! I've taken that one down from itch since the project files are super outdated (and uses ripped sprites).

Darn, there were a few game mechanics I wanted to learn from that tutorial. Do you have the d-mon code available anywhere? I am having trouble with creating an inventory of fighters that can be switched in and out during a battle.

Sorry, I don't have that project file posted (and may not actually have it backed up!), but I did just launch the first article in my RPG tutorial series today with GB Studio Central. One of the future articles will cover swapping party members, so that may help you out!

Dope, I'll check it out. Thank you!

I can't tell which stat is which.

IIRC, first stat (x) is attack, second (square) is shield, third (circle) is psyko.

Attack > Pskyo > Shield > Attack, rocks paper scissors style.

Thanks. That's really not obvious. Maybe you should change it to the first letter.

Really beautiful Homebrew gameboy game, it is so unfair that this is so underrated! As a Gameboy dev myself I realize how hard this must have been. I added this to an underrated games collection on my page to help support it. Also, I recognize that music on the overworld, that is an exact recreation of the ending theme from the Amiga and computer versions of Another World. Wow... That is actually bringing tears to my eyes to listen to, as it sounds so accurate to the original song and so beautiful. I love Another World so much, it is amazing that you included that.

My Review for D-Mons :)

Subtitles aviable in german, english, spanish, Portuguese and french :)

Sorry! I think it might be bad luck; this was made before we had some more insight into the random seeds for GB Studio so rng was a bit wonky.

all right. Thank u for the answer. So I have to farm few hours more for the last Dmon :)

I love this game but where i find the secret item? U know what i mean 😅

wahooo, so good !
Have you got a gbs file project Please ?

Hey uh, how do you deposit a d-mon on a server? Also LOVE THE GAME BTW, it reminds me so much of pokemon

If you have more than 1 D-MON, you should be able to deposit it at Marlowe's computer in the lab or Mom's computer.

how to heal mons

Sleep in your bed!

I flippin loved this game. Probably played it way longer than it was intended to be played. And will very likely play it again before long. Took a little figuring and exploring before I realized how to make monsters more powerful. Which, once I stumbled across it, really loved that it’s not the standard XP system. Incredibly robust “mini”game!

thank you!

U should update it where the creatures walk free along side u an when u use the demon to click on creatures it freezes

I really enjoyed this. Good work.

Thanks!

This is really good! I got wiped out pretty quickly but I’ll have to make another go at it soon!

This just looks professional. Good Job

oooh this looks incredible! i love the 1-bit art with the splash of colour, and amazing job creating a full RPG on GB Studio! definitely going to finish this when I get the chance

Thanks! I'm considering this a "mini RPG". It's complete in that there is an overall goal that does take some time to complete, and there are secrets / different endings, but my other project KENSEI is a much bigger attempt at a full RPG. Now that this game jam entry is completed I'll get back to working on that!

even just being 2-3 hours long and having an ending at all is impressive! i’ll check out KENSEI too!

Impressive, feels like a huge world to have been built in 10 days. The postbox comment made me laugh and although I got wiped out in my first battle, I'll definitely be giving it another go!

I'm so glad you enjoyed it. Getting the right style of humor without going overboard is definitely a challenge.
